I’m originally from Denmark, and Spain has been my home since 2006. I’ve lived and ridden across regions all across northern Spain, Italy and France, and now Girona where I’m based today. I speak fluent Spanish and English. 

Since 2016, cycling has been a central part of my life, with a focus on road riding, gravel, and multi-day bike packing. I’ve spent countless days riding both iconic climbs and quiet, lesser-known roads across Europe.

What I offer isn’t just guiding, it’s access. 

Access to routes you wouldn’t find on your own, ridden in a way that feels right for you. Girona’s landscape offers incredible variety, and especially through gravel riding, a quieter and more immersive experience of the region.

Marije Plantinga

My roots are in the north of the Netherlands. Ten years ago, love brought me to Belgium, and my passion for cycling eventually brought me to Girona.

Having lived in several places around the world, I enjoy meeting people from different cultures and backgrounds. 

If you join me for a ride, don't expect a race. We ride at a comfortable, conversational pace, taking the time to chat, stop for photos, enjoy a coffee on a terrace, and soak up the atmosphere of this beautiful region. My goal is for everyone to have a relaxed and memorable day on the bike.

By the end of the ride, you'll still have plenty of energy left to explore Girona, and I'll be happy to share my favourite cafés, restaurants, and local recommendations to help you make the most of your stay

Arno van Mullem

I grew up in Flanders, where cycling isn’t really a sport — it’s a way of life. I learned to ride on cobbles, in the rain, and around the roads of the Belgian classics. Growing up in a place that takes cycling as seriously as Flanders does definitely leaves its mark.

Over the years, I’ve ridden across some of Europe’s best cycling terrain, from the Ardennes and Mont Ventoux to the Alps, Dolomites and around Bormio. These are the kind of roads you see on race coverage and add to your bucket list. For me, though, riding them has been less about ticking them off and more about learning how different terrain suits different riders.

I came to Catalonia later on, but it didn’t take long for me to fall in love with it. There’s an incredible variety here — smooth tarmac one day, gravel the next, and plenty of mountain roads in between. It’s the kind of place where you can keep exploring for years and still find new roads.

And that’s probably what I enjoy most: finding the good roads. The quiet ones, the roads that don’t necessarily show up on the usual cycling routes, and the little places you only discover by spending a lot of time riding around.

I guide in Dutch, English and French, so communication is pretty easy for most riders. Whether you’re looking for a serious day in the mountains, a gravel adventure, or just a relaxed ride with some good stops along the way, I’ll put together a route that suits you.

I am a proud Catalan from Barcelona who moved to Girona eight years ago to be closer to my passion for cycling. I’ve been riding for nearly 25 years and have extensive experience leading group rides.

I believe the best cycling experiences are about much more than performance—they’re about having fun, exploring new places, and enjoying the unexpected. What I love most is sharing my home territory, introducing people to the beautiful roads, local traditions, and authentic Catalan culture that make Girona and the Costa Brava so
